Footage of Moore Street (1946)

While most of the concentration for the last age has been on the campaign to save the historic site of 16 Moore Street, it’s interesting to look back and see how much has changed in general. Here’s some old footage from 1946 which starts with Buckleys of Moore Street, still trading there. Many stalls and produce are on view and it ends with a long line of people at the Savoy cinema eagerly in queue for the film “The Bells of St. Mary’s”, starring Bing Crosby and Ingrid Bergman.
